This DVD clip describes an animated story based project between St Teresa’s PS, Lurgan and Portadown Integrated PS, Portadown.

The 2 classes worked together during 2 sessions a week for 6 weeks to create stories, story board, develop the animations and complete 4 digital stories together.

The 2 teachers involved and the digital story teller describe the benefits of working collaboratively together, While the project had a literacy focus, the main aims were to get the children working together, interacting with each other and breaking down barriers.  The children also developed a range of thinking skills and personal capabilities through the process.

The children describe the process of working together and making the animated stories.  They are also able to recognise the things they have in common with each other and how the initial boundaries soon disappeared once they started working together.

The children enjoyed a celebration day with their parents a the end of the project to share and celebrate their learning.
