CROWS ON THE WIRE

A new app for iPad and Android

Downloadable free from the App Store and Google Play

Crows on the Wire is a dynamic new educational app superbly illustrated in contemporary comic book style and set in stunning 3D scenarios.  The app is a graphic novel version of the original drama by Jonathan Burgess, commissioned in 2013 by the Verbal Arts Centre.

The app is particularly aimed at teachers of History and Citizenship, and also will be of interest to teachers of English and Drama.  The story is set during a pivotal historical moment in Northern Ireland – the night of 3rd November 2001, when the police force of the RUC (Royal Ulster Constabulary) transitioned into the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland). Suitable for KS4, the app contains a range of interactive and easily accessible resources designed to stimulate young people to consider how the past influences the present, and to explore themes such as cultural identity, sectarianism, conflict, change, commemoration, equality and the role of the younger generation.

The app is exclusively for iPads and Tablets and is available free.
